This Samsung Mobile Security Rewards Program Privacy Notice (this “Privacy Notice”) applies to the personal information we obtain through Samsung Mobile Security Rewards Program (the “Service”). It does not apply to information collected by other apps, websites or services provided by Samsung.
This Privacy Notice supplements the Samsung Privacy Policy (available at https://www.samsung.com/us/account/privacy-policy) (“Samsung Privacy Policy”) and provides additional information about how we may collect, use and share your personal information in connection with the Service. In the event any portion of this Privacy Notice conflicts with the Samsung Privacy Policy and/or the Consumer Health Data Privacy Statement, the relevant provisions of this Privacy Notice will govern.
Information We Obtain
Through the Service, we may obtain information about you in various ways. The types of personal information we may obtain include:
Information You Provide Directly
Samsung Account Information: We may collect information associated with the Samsung account used to access the Service, such as your Samsung account identifiers such as globally unique identifier (GUID) and country or region of residence.
Rewards Program Interactions: We may collect information you submit through the Service such as when you submit a security report, name for acknowledgment, contact email, country or region of residence, affected firmware version and device, vulnerability details including any files you attach to the security report, and any communications you send to us.
Rewards Information: In order to process your rewards, we may additionally collect name, registration number, nationality, country or region of residence (for tax purposes), residence address including postal code, phone number and information concerning any amounts paid to you (including the Paypal address where any amounts payable is sent).
Information We Obtain By Automated Means
Information about your Service-enabled devices, such as device model, OS version, device configurations and settings, IP address, Session ID;
Information about your usage of the Service, including about how, when, and for how long you use the Service, and technical and error information. We also collect any information stored in cookies we have set on your device;
We also may collect other information about you, your devices and apps, and your use of the Service in ways that we describe to you at the time of collection or otherwise with your consent.
How We Use the Information We Obtain
We may use the information we obtain through the Service for the purposes described in the Samsung Privacy Policy and to:
provide you with the Service, such as responding to your submissions, requests, questions and responses made through the Service, as well as, if applicable, provide you with rewards;
identify and authenticate you so you may use the Service; and
operate, evaluate and improve our business (including enhancing and improving our products and the Service; managing our communications; analyzing your submissions, our products, customer base, and the Service; conducting market research; performing data analytics; and performing other internal functions).
Information Sharing
As you use the Service, we share the types of information we collect (as described above) to the following entities for the purposes described above.
1. Subsidiaries and Affiliates: Samsung branded and non-branded subsidiaries and affiliates which we control or own;
2. Business Partners: Third parties who we work together with. These business partners control and manage your personal information. For example, we may share your information with the following types of business partners:
Bugcrowd Inc. as third-party payment processors
Microsoft Korea Inc. as cloud platform providers
3. Service Providers/Processors: Carefully selected companies that provide services for or on behalf of us. These providers are also committed to protecting your information.
4. Other Parties When Required by Law or as Necessary to Protect Our Services: For example, it may be necessary by law, legal process, or court order from governmental authorities to disclose your information. They may also seek your information from us for the purposes of law enforcement, national security, anti-terrorism, or other issues that are related to public security.
5. Other Parties with Your Consent or at Your Direction: In addition to the disclosures described in this Privacy Notice, we share information about you with third parties when you separately consent to or request such sharing.

As stated above, this Privacy Notice supplements the Samsung Privacy Policy, which describes our information retention practices.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time and without prior notice to you to reflect changes in our personal information practices with respect to the Service or changes in applicable law. We will provide you with advanced noticed of any material changes by notifying you through the Service or email if we have one. We will indicate at the top of this Privacy Notice when it was most recently updated.
